Pharmacokic
dextromethorphan hydrobromid is a cough reduction drug that works on the cough center in the brain. Dextromethorphan is used for temporary cough due to mild stimulation in the bronchial and throat as usual cold or inhaled stimulants. Dextromethorphan is most effective in the treatment of chronic cough, without sputum. The drug is often used in combination with many other substances in the treatment of upper respiratory symptoms.
Clorpheniramin Maleat is an antihistamine with very little sedative effects. The antihistamine effect of chlorpheniramine through the block of the H1 receptor of the acting cells.
Glyceryl Guaiacolat (Guaifenesin) is a phlegm, it stimulates or facilitates the removal of the respiratory secretions through increased mass and makes the mucus less sticky than sputum.
Ammonium chloride causes mild irritation on the bronchial mucosa to increase the secretion of the respiratory tract, reduce dryness and pain of the respiratory tract.
pharmacokinetic
dextromethorphan is quickly absorbed through the digestive tract and works within 15 - 30 minutes after drinking, lasting about 6-8 hours (12 hours with slow liberation form). The drug is metabolized in the liver and excreted through the urine in the form of constant and Demethyl metabolites, among them dextromethorphan also has a slight cough reduction effect.
Clorpheniramin Maleat absorbs well when drinking and appears in plasma for 30-60 minutes. Plasma peak concentration is about 2.5-6 hours after drinking. Low bioavailability, reaching 25-50%. About 70% of the drug during the circulation associated with the protein. The distribution volume is about 3.5 liters/kg (adults) and 7-10 liters/kg (children). Chlorpheniramin Maleat metabolizes fast and high. The drug is excreted mainly in urine in the form of constant or metabolic, the excretion depends on the pH and the urine flow. Only a small amount is seen in the feces. The sale time is 12-15 hours and in patients with chronic renal failure. Glyceryl Guaiacolat absorbs easy by oral, 1 hour waste sale time.
glyceryl guaiacolate metabolized through the liver and excreted mainly through the kidneys
Ammonium chloride quickly absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract when used by oral. Ammonium chloride metabolizes in the liver into urea and hydrochloride acid; Elimination through the kidneys.

Contraindicated
Coje cough drugs in the following cases:
Caution when using
Dextromethorphan: Patients with coughs have too many sputum and chronic coughs in smokers, asthma or gas overflow; People at risk or respiratory decline; Using dextromethorphan is related to histamine release and should be cautious with children with allergies.
Clorpheniramin Maleat: The sedative effect of chlorpheniramin increases when drinking alcohol and using simultaneously with other sedatives, people with glaucoma; Elderly (> 60 years old) because these people often increase sensitivity to anti -secretion effect acetylcholin.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
affect the ability to drive and operate machinery due to drugs containing chlorpheniramin ingredients that cause chicken, dizziness, dizziness, blurred vision.
Pregnancy
Because Glyceryl Guaiacolat through the placenta should not be used for pregnant women.
Chlorpheniramin is only used for pregnant women when necessary. Currently, the effect of dextromethorphan for pregnant women is unknown, so they only use when necessary and have a doctor's instructions.
Breastfeeding period
only used when necessary and must follow the instructions of the physician. Clorpheniramin can be secreted through breast milk and inhibit milk. Because antihistamine drugs can cause serious reactions to breastfeeding, should consider or not breastfeed or do not take the drug, depending on the level of the drug's necessary to the mother.
Drug interaction
for chlorpheniramin maleat
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Mao) prolonged and increased the anti -secretion effect of acetylcholine of antihistamine drugs.
ethanol or sedative drugs can increase the inhibition effect of TKTW of chlorpheniramin.
chlorpheniramine inhibits phenytoin metabolism and can lead to phenytoin poisoning.
For dextromethorphan
Avoid use with Mao inhibitors.
Simultaneously used with central neurological inhibitors can enhance the central neurological inhibitor of these drugs or of dextromethorphan.
Cytochrom P4502D6 quinidine can metabolize the metabolism of dextromethorphan in the liver, increasing the concentration of this substance in serum and increasing the undesirable uses of dextromethorphan.
Storage
in a dry place, avoid light, at room temperature.
