Uses

indications

Somazina 500mg pills are indicated in the following cases:

  • Acute treatment and neurological sequelae.

citicolin stimulates the biosynthesis of the structural phospholipids of the nerve cell membrane. Therefore, citicolin improves the function of the membrane mechanism such as the function of ion exchange pumps and receptors attached to it, the modulation of this function is essential in neurotransmitter.

Cellin cell membrane stability effects to improve the reabsorption through the nerve cell membrane when brain edema.

Experimental studies show that citicolin inhibits the activity of some phospholipase (A1, A2, C and D), reducing the formation of free radicals, avoiding destroying membrane systems and protecting antioxidant defense systems such as glutathion.

citicolin protects the energy reserve of nerve cells, inhibits cell death according to the program and stimulates acetylcholin synthesis.

Experimental shows that citicolin also has a preventive neurological effect in ischemia.

Clinical trials on neurological imaging shows that citicolin significantly improves function in patients with acute stroke due to acute ischemia, while slowing down the progression of chemical anemia damage.

In patients with traumatic brain injury, citicolin promotes recovery and reduces the time and severity of brain disease after damage.

citicolin improves the level of concentration, awareness, dementia and cognitive and nervous disorders related to ischemia.

    Dynamic pharmacology

citicolin is well absorbed after oral, intramuscularly or intravenously. The concentration of cholin in plasma increases significantly after taking the drug in the above -mentioned lines. The drug is metabolized in the intestine and liver into cholin and cytidin. Citicolin, after use, is widely distributed in the brain structure, the cholin quickly connects to the structural phospholipid and cytidine associated with nucleotid cytidinic and nucleic acid. Citicolin enters the brain and connects to cell membranes, cells and mitochondria, participating in structural phospholipid elements.

Only a small amount of dosage appears in urine and feces (below 3/9). About 12% of the dose is excreted through CO2 exhaled. The process of excretion through urine can be distinguished into two stages: the first phase is about 36 hours, the speed of excretion decreases rapidly and in the second phase of the excretion speed decreases much more slowly. The same process with excretion through CO2 exhaled, the emissions speed decreased rapidly after about 15 hours and then fell much slower.

  • stroke due to ischemia or cerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury: Somazina is appointed immediately or many days/week after symptoms onset with a normal dose of 1 g/12 hours ie 2 g/day. Treatment time is usually 6 weeks.
  • Neurological sequelae of mutation or due to traumatic brain injury: The common dose is from 500 - 1 g/day. Treatment time can last 12 months.
