Pharmacokology

Meloxicam is an non -steroid anti -inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the Oxicam family, with anti -inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic properties. Meloxicam's anti -inflammatory activity has been proved on classic forms of inflammation, such as other NSAIDs, the exact mechanism of action of the drug is still unknown. However, there is at least one common mechanism for all NSAIDs (including Meloxicam): inhibiting prostaglandin biosynthesis, known as inflammatory intermediate.

pharmacokinetics

absorption: Meloxicam is well absorbed after drinking.

Distribution: 99% of the drug is connected to the bloody protein. Meloxicam has the time to sell discharged in plasma for about 20 hours.

Metabolism and elimination: The drug is metabolized mainly through oxidation and is excreted an amount of soy sauce through urine and feces, less than 3% of the dose is excreted in a constant form. The distribution volume increases when renal failure.

How to use

Take oral use.

Dosage

Rheumatoid arthritis and vertebral stiff inflammation: Normal single dose

is 15 mg/day.

People at high risk of side effects, should start at a dose of 7.5 mg/day.

Long -term treatment in the elderly: 7.5 mg/day.

Severe acute osteoarthritis: Meloxicam's daily dose is 7.5 mg, if it is necessary to increase to a single dose of up to 15 mg/day.

Smooth arthritis in adolescents for children 2 years and older: The usual oral recommendation is 125 mcg/kg/time/day, increasing to a maximum dose of 7.5 mg/day.

Or calculated in weight with children aged 12 to 18 years of intolerance to other NSAID drugs:

  • less than 50 kg: 7.5 mg/time/day.
  • over 50 kg: 15 mg/time/day.

    Used in kidney failure:

Meloxicam is often contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment. However,

Separation patients, can take Meloxicam at a maximum dose of 7.5 mg/day.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What do

do when overdose? Gastrointestinal bleeding can occur. Some cases of severe poisoning can lead to hypertension, acute renal failure, liver dysfunction, respiratory failure, coma, convulsions, heart failure and cardiac arrest. Anaphylactic reactions have been reported when taking NSAIDs at the dose of treatment and may occur at an overdose. Patients need to be controlled by symptomatic treatment and support at NSAID overdose. Meloxicam can be quickly eliminated by drinking 4 g cholestyramin x - 3 times/day.

What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Do not use double the prescribed dose.

    Contraindications:

Stadxicam drug 7.5 Contraindications in the following cases:

Hypersensitivity to Meloxicam or any ingredient of the drug.

History of urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, severe rhinitis, or shock due to aspirin or other NSAID drugs.

History of aspirin sensitivity, asthma and nasal polyps.

    Severe liver failure.

Kidney failure does not dialysis gastrointestinal bleeding, a history of brain bleeding.

    Be cautious when using

    Heart thrombosis:

Non -steroid anti -inflammatory drugs (NSAID), non -aspirin, using systemic sugars can increase the risk of cardiovascular thrombosis, including myocardial and diverse infarction, which can lead to death. This risk can appear early in the first few weeks of taking the drug and can increase over time. The risk of cardiovascular thrombosis is recorded mainly at high doses.

Doctors need to periodically evaluate the appearance of cardiovascular events, even when the patient has no previous cardiovascular symptoms. Patients need to be warned of symptoms of serious cardiovascular events and need to see a doctor as soon as they appear.

To minimize the risk of adverse events, stadaicam 7.5 is needed at the lowest daily dose to be effective in the shortest possible time.

Effects on digestion: The risk of serious effects on the digestive tract (such as bleeding, ulcers, perforation), may occur at any time when there is or without warning signs or symptoms. Combined treatments may increase the risk of bleeding or gastrointestinal ulcers, long -term treatment with NSAID drugs, anticoagulant or oral corticosteroids, smoking, alcoholism, poor health conditions or in the elderly (higher risk of fatal gastrointestinal complications).

Hypertension: Using NSAID drugs, including meloxicam that can cause hypertension or worsen available hypertension, this case increases the incidence of cardiovascular disease.

Effects on the kidneys: Nephropathy necrosis or renal change may occur when long -term use NSAID.

Hypersensitivity reactions: Including anaphylactic reaction that may occur in patients not in contact with the previous Meloxicam. Serious skin reactions (such as flaking dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, poisoned epidermal necrosis) can occur in patients using Meloxicam.

Hematology effects: Anemia has been reported, mainly occurring in patients using long -term Meloxicam (about 6 months). Stadxicam 7.5 contains lactose. This drug should not be used for patients with rare genetic problems galactose, Lactase enzyme deficiency

The ability to drive and operate machinery

There is no specialized research on the ability to drive and operate machinery.

    Pregnancy

Avoid drugs for the last 3 months of pregnancy because of the ability to close the fetus's arteriosus early.

    Breastfeeding period

Meloxicam excreted in mice, should stop breastfeeding or stop taking the drug because of the potential risk of breastfeeding.

    Interactive drug

    other nsaids and acetylsalicylic acid> 3 g/day:

Combined with other nonsteroidal anti -inflammatory drugs, including acetylsalicylic acid with anti -inflammatory doses (single doses of 21g or total daily doses of 23 g) are not specified.

corticosteroids: Be careful when used with corticosteroids because of the increased risk of bleeding or gastrointestinal ulcers.

Anticoagulant or heparin prescription for the elderly or at the treatment dose: increases the risk of bleeding, through inhibition of platelet function and destroying the gastric - duodenum mucosa.

Diuretics, enzyme inhibitors and Angiotensin II antagonists: NSAID drugs can reduce the effects of diuretics and other hypertension drugs.

Other anti -hypertension drugs (such as beta blockers): Reducing the hypotension effect of beta blockers (due to prostaglandin inhibitors with vasodilation effects).

Cyclosporin: The kidney toxicity of cyclosporin may increase when using NSAID through the intermediate effect of prostaglandin in the kidney.

NSAID drugs are reported to increase the concentration of lithiums in the blood (through reduced lithium secretion in the kidneys), this can reach toxic threshold.

Methotrexate: NSAID drugs may reduce the secretion of methotrexate in the renal tubules due to increased methotrexate levels in plasma.

cholestyramin: Cholestyramin increases the elimination of meloxicam by preventing the liver -intestinal cycle, so the clearance of Meloxicam increases by 50% and the selling time decreases to 13+3 hours.
