Pharmacokic

Sucralfat is aluminum salt of sulfate disaccarid, used for short -term gastrointestinal ulcer. The drug has a more local effect (ulcer) than the whole body effect. When there is gastric acid, the drug forms a complex like a lake powder sticking to the damaged mucosa. Sucralfat does not neutralize many stomach acid levels. The treatment dose of sucralfate has no acid anti -acid effect, but when adhering to the gastric - duodenal mucosa, the acid neutralization effect of sucralfate can become important to protect at the ulcer.

Sucralfat has a strong affinity for the ulcer area (6-7 times higher than the normal gastric mucosa) and the affinity for the duodenal ulcer is larger than the thick ulcer. Sucralfat produces an ulcerative barrier, which inhibits pepsin's protein elimination effects by preventing Pepsin from attaching to albumin, fibrinogen ... on the ulcer surface. This fence also prevents the diffusion of H+ ions by interacting directly with acid on the ulcer surface.

Sucralfate also absorbs bile acids, inhibits diffusion back to glycocholic acid and protects the gastric mucosa from being damaged by taurocholic acid. However, the effect of sucralfate on bile acid in the treatment of stomach - duodenal ulcer is unclear. Sucralfat is considered to be a protective drug of the gastrointestinal mucosa, creating a fence in the ulcer to protect the ulcer not pepsin, acid and bile -causing bile and therefore the ulcer can be immediately. Sucralfat is considered as a protective drug of the gastrointestinal mucosa.

The drug appears after 1-2 hours and the time is up to 6 hours.

Sucralfat's

clinical data in children is limited. Depending on each country that has indicated by different ages.

pharmacokinetic

absorption

Sucralfat absorbs very little (

Distribution

Sucralfat distributes very small amounts into tissue, does not determine whether the drug is through the placenta and secretion into the milk or not.

Metabolism

Sucralfate reacts with hydrochloride acid in the stomach into non -metabolic sucrose sulfate.

Elimination

90% of sucralfate is excreted in the feces, a very small amount is absorbed and excreted into the urine in the form of constant compound.

There is no information on how to deal with sucralfat overdose.

What to do when forgetting a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Do not drink twice as prescribed.

  • Hypersensitivity to SucralFAT or any ingredients of the drug.
  • Be cautious when used

Do not use sucralfate intravenously due to can lead to aluminum poisoning and other deadly complications, including pulmonary obstruction, brain obstruction.

Be cautious in patients with renal impairment due to the risk of increased aluminum accumulation. It is not recommended to use sucralfate in mitosis patients. In patients with severe renal impairment or chronic renal failure, using sucralfate must be extremely cautious and only short -term. A small amount of aluminum is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and may be accumulated. Bone dysplasia, soft bone, brain disease, anemia has been reported in patients with renal impairment. It is recommended to test the concentration of aluminum, phosphate, calcium, alkaline phosphatase regularly with patients with impaired renal function.

It is not recommended to simultaneously use other aluminum preparations because of the increased risk of aluminum absorption and poisoning.

The objects in the stomach have been reported after using sucralfat mainly in patients with serious illnesses using enhanced medical equipment. Most patients with diseases may increase the risk of formation of foreign objects (slowly emptying the stomach due to surgery, drug use or diseases that reduce movement).

The ability to drive and operate machinery

Sucralfate can cause unwanted effects on the nerves such as dizziness, dizziness, drowsiness. Doctors and pharmacists need to notify the patient, in case the patient has the above unwanted effects, must not drive, operate machinery, work on high or other jobs that can cause other dangers that require alertness and concentration.

    Pregnancy

    Medicinal interaction

can use antacids and sucralfate in the treatment of duodenal ulcer to mitigate pain. But do not drink at the same time as antacids can affect the attachment of sucralfate on the mucosa. Tell patients to take Antacid before or after taking Sucralfat 30 minutes.

Concentrated with Sucralfat can reduce the bioavailability of some drugs such as fluoroquinolon (Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin), Tetracyclin, Ketoconazole, Sulpid, Digoxin, Warfarin, Phenytoin, Theophylline, Levothyroxin, quinidine, quinidine, antagonistic medicine. The bioavailability of the above drugs is restored to the old sucralfate. This interaction may be because the above drugs are clinging to the sucralfate in the gastrointestinal tract.

Do not use simultaneously sucralfat with citrate -containing preparations because it can create chelate complexes with aluminum increases the amount of aluminum absorption, increasing aluminum concentration in blood.

Should avoid simultaneous use of sucralfate with nourishing through the gastrointestinal tract by nasal - stomach catheter in preventing ulcers due to stress. Although rare, there have been cases of forming objects in the stomach when the time of using sucralfate and placing the nose -nose catheter nurtured through the digestive tract is too close to each other.

    Storage
