indications
Toprozil medicine is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of acute otitis median caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Haemophilus Influenzae, Moraxella Catatrhalis (including seminarians β - lactamase). According to the recommended AAP, high -dose amoxicillin or amoxicillin + clavulanate is the first drug to treat acute otitis media. Cephalosporin (Cefdinir, Cefpodoxim, Cefuroxim, Ceftriaxon) are alternative options in Penicillin allergies.
Treatment of sore throat and tonsillitis caused by S. Pyogenes (β - hemolytic streptococci group A). Overall Cefprozil is effective in eradicating S. Pyogenes in the nose and throat and preventing rheumatism. AAP, IDSA, AHA organizations recommend using penicillin (penicillin v or amoxicillin oral 10 days or the only dose of penicillin g benzathine intramuscularly) is the first choice for S. Pyogenes sore throat and tonsillitis; Other antibiotics (cephalosporin, macrolide, clindamycin orally) are alternatives when patients with penicillin allergies.
Treatment of acute sinusitis caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Haemophilus Influenzae, Moraxella Catarrhalis (including seminarians β - lactamase). IDSA organization does not recommend using cephalosporin oral oral 2 -3 -generation oral sinusitis acute bacterial sinusitis. Amoxicillin oral or amoxicillin + Clavulanat is more commonly used. If an oral cephalosporin is used instead of children in the case of penicillin allergies, the 3rd generation cephalosporin regimen (Cefixim, Cefpodoxim) and Clindamycin (or Linezolid).
Treatment of acute bronchitis caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Haemophilus Influenzae, Moraxella CatVrhalis (including seminarians β - lactamase).
Treatment of acute chronic bronchitis caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Haemophilus Influenzae, Moraxella Catatrhalis (including seminarians β - lactamase).
Treatment of skin infections and uncomplicated skin structure due to Staphylococcus aureus (including seminarians β - lactamase), S. Pyogenes, S. Epidermidis, S. Saprophyticus, Streptococci group B or G, E. Coli, K. Pneumoniae.
Pharmacological
in vitro, Cefprozil inhibits many gram -positive and gram -negative bacteria by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cells. Cefprozil is more durable with β - lactamase than Cefaclor. Cefprozil's antibacterial spectrum:
Aerodynamic: Staphylococcus aureus (including seminarians β - lactamase), Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus Pyogenes, Enterococcus Dansan, Enteroccus Faecalis, Listeria Monocytogenes, Staphylococcus Epidermidis, Staphylocccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc Saprophyticus, Staphylococcus Warneri, Streptococcus Agalactiae, Streptococci (Group C, D, F, and G).Aerobic grams: Haemophilus Influenzae, Moraxella CatVrhalis, Citrobacter Diversus, Escherichia Coli, Klebsiella Pneumonia, Neisseria Gonorrhoeea (including seminarians β - Lactamase), Proteus Mirabilis, Salmonella SPPPLLA SPPP. spp., Vibrio spp.
Anaerobic bacteria: Bacteroides Melaninogenicus, Clostridium difficile, Clostridium perfringens, Fusobacterium spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Propionibacterium acnes.
Cefprozil does not work on Enterococcus Faecium resistance methicillin, most of acinetobacter strains, entrancer, morganella morganii, proteus vulgaris, Providencia, Pseudomonas, Serratia. Most strains belong to the Bacteroides Fragilis group, Staphylococci resistant methicillin, Haemophilus influenzae ampicillin resistant to Cefprozil.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
absorption
After drinking, Cefprozil is quickly absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Birth in adults is about 90 - 95%, CMAX is about 1.5 hours. Food does not affect the absorption and CMAX, but TMAX can last 15 - 45 minutes.
distribution
The drug is distributed into tissues and gastric juice, middle ear fluid, tonsils. The drug is distributed into milk at low concentrations. About 35 - 45% Cefprozil in the circulatory system linked to plasma proteins.
metabolism, excretion
The sale time of the drug in plasma is about 1 to 1.4 hours in adults the normal kidney function and about 0.94 to 2.1 hours in children 6 months to 12 years old.
Cefprozil is eliminated through the urine through glomerular filtration and excreted in the renal tubules. About 54 to 70% of the doses of use are eliminated through urine in the form of unchanged within 24 hours.

How to useMix the package with sufficient water and drink.
Dosage
Adults and children ≥ 13 years:
Secondary infections of acute bronchitis: 500 mg every 12 hours in 10 days.
Patients with hepatic failure: No dose adjustment.
Patients with renal failure:
Elderly people: No need for dosage in the elderly, except for people with severe liver and kidney function.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.
What to do when overdose? When using the 3000 mg/kg dose of Cefprozil on monkeys, it causes diarrhea, anorexia.
Cefprozil is excreted mainly through the kidneys. Therefore, in case of serious overdose, especially in patients with impaired renal function, dialysis should be conducted to eliminate the drug from the body.
What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.

Rare, ADR Instructions on how to handle ADR When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.
Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
contraindicated
Toprozil drugs contraindicated in the following cases:
Be cautious when using
colitis and diarrhea related to Clostridium difficile/superinfection:
may appear and overdue bacterial or non -sensitive fungi when used for prolonged Cefprozil. Appropriate treatment should be taken when superinfection occurs.
Antibacterial treatment that changes the normal microbiological system of the colon and may allow the overgrowth of Clostridium difficile bacteria. CDAD (CDAD) is reported almost with all antibiotics and at a degree from mild diarrhea to colitis can be fatal. C. Difficile produces toxins A and B, contributing to the development of CDAD; strain C. Difficile produces hypertoxin increases the incidence of disease and deaths from anti -drug bacteria and may require colon removal surgery. Be careful to monitor CDAD if diarrhea develops during or after treatment with the drug. Be cautious with patients with a history of CDAD that occurred at least 2 months or longer after stopping Cefprozil.
If suspected or diagnosed with CDAD, stop using antibiotics does not work against C. Difficile immediately. Using appropriate supportive therapy (water and electrolyte, protein supplementation), antibiotic treatment against C. Difficile (Metronidazol, Vancomycin), consider clinically indicated surgery.
Hypersensitivity reaction:
Hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis, serum, erythema, Stevens - Johnson syndrome) have been reported when using the drug. If the hypersensitivity reaction occurs, stop cefprozil immediately and take appropriate treatment (use epinephrin, corticosteroid, maintain oxygen and adequate ventilation).
Cross reaction:
There is a cross reaction between cephalosporins and other antibiotics β - lactam (penicillin).
Before starting treatment, it is necessary to find out the history of hypersensitivity reactions that happened earlier with cephalosporin, penicillin or other drugs. Avoid use in people who have a hypersensitivity reaction (anaphylactic type) and cautious in those who have had side effects (rash, fever, Eosin leukemia).
Caution:
To reduce the growth of anti -drug bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of Cefprozil and other antibiotics, only used to treat or prevent infections that have been shown by the bacteria sensitive to drugs.
The risk of drug resistance may occur if used in case of non -bacterial or prolonged use.
Caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis.
Can give a fake positive test for test copy.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
A few cases of drugs can cause dizziness, headache, hyperactive, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, drowsiness, so it should be noted when driving and operating machinery.
Pregnancy
There is no adequate study in pregnant women. Therefore, Cefprozil is only used in this object when it is really necessary.
The period of breastfeedingcefprozil is distributed in milk, so use caution in breastfeeding women.
