Uses
Indications
Tot’hema is indicated in the following cases:
tot'hema provides iron, manganese, copper in the form of gluconate salt, is an anti -anemic drug.
iron: necessary for the body to synthesize heme, part of hemoglobin, myoglobin and other metal-protein in the body. Iron involved in oxidation - reduction process. Iron deficiency is the main cause of anemia due to human nutrition. Causes of iron deficiency may be due to iron -deficient food, due to poor absorption, blood loss or increased demand such as during pregnancy, children are growing.
Copper and manganese: is an important component of many enamel systems in the body and also participates in oxidation and reduction processes. Lack of copper can affect the absorption of iron and the release of iron from the endothelial mesh cells. Manganese is an essential element for bones, skin, ligaments, functions of insulin, and is also an active agent of some enzymes, manganese necessary for human normal development and plays a role in cholesterol synthesis (a component of many hormones) and sperm production.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
iron: iron salt is less absorbed by drinking (10% to 20% of oral orally). The absorption level increases when the amount of iron reserves is reduced. The absorption place is mainly in the duodenum and the rosaries. The mechanism of iron penetrates into the mucosa cells of the above gastrointestinal tract is not known.
Copper: approximately 50% of the amount of copper is absorbed in the stomach. The copper is completely transformed in the blood by attaching to albumin, followed by a special protein of copper (ceruloplasmin). Copper is accumulated in the liver and bone marrow as metallothonein. Normally, the copper is out of the secret, where it plays an important role in the end of the inner tissue.
Manganese: absorbed from the small intestine and is transferred to blood, attached to an β1-globulin, transmanganin. Manganese is excreted through bile and through the intestinal wall, this element is also exported in the pancreatic fluid. A very small amount of cards exported through urine.
Before taking Tot'héma Innothera solution treat iron anemia (2 blisters x 10 tubes x 10ml)
How to use
Take oral use.
Dilute the drug tube in water (add sugar or not) or in other non -alcoholic drinks. It is best to drink before meals, but can adjust the time and dose to suit the digestive function of each person.
Dosage
Dosage treatment
Adults: 100 mg to 200 mg of iron equivalent to 2 - 4 tot'hema tubes daily divided into several times.
Children over 1 month of age: 3 mg to 6 mg of elemental iron / kg daily divided into 3 times.
Pregnant women and nursing mothers:
Time must be sufficient to adjust anemia and recover with iron reserves: adults about 600 mg in women and 1200 mg in men.
Anemia due to iron deficiency: 3 to 6 months depending on the degree of loss of reserves, maybe longer if the cause of anemia is not controlled.
The effectiveness of treatment is only available after 3 months of treatment, based on the adjustment of anemia (HB, MCV) and restoring the amount of iron reserves (serum iron and transferrin saturation).
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.
What to do when using overdose?
It is necessary to treat as soon as possible, conducting a stomach with 1%sodium bicarbonate solution. Using chelate complex substances is very effective, especially when using Deferoxamine, mainly when the concentration of iron in the blood is over 5 mg/ml. The shock, dehydration and abnormalities of Acide-Base are treated with classical methods.
What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.
Side Effects
When using tot’hema , you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
Contraindicated
Tot’hema contraindicated in the following cases:
Acute peptic ulcer.
Be cautious when using
Drinking plenty of teas will reduce iron absorption.
Caution in the case of patients with diabetes because each tube contains 3g of sugar.
To avoid the possibility of black dyed teeth (will go away on its own), do not take a long time in the mouth.
Note:
Using drugs ineffective in case of reducing iron in the blood in combination with inflammatory syndrome.
To the extent possible, should coordinate the treatment of iron supplements with the treatment of disease origin.
Watch out for iron deficiency in children should apply diverse diets.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
Not applicable.
Pregnancy
drugs for pregnant women.
Breastfeeding period Drug interaction
should not be coordinated
iron preparations (salt; injection): faint, even shocked by iron release from complex form and by saturated siderophiline.
Precautions when coordinating
ciprofloxacine: iron reduces the bioavailability of ciprofloxacin, using these drugs apart for more than 2 hours.
Cyclin (oral), diphosphonate (oral): iron reduces the absorption of these drugs in the digestive tract, need to use these drugs apart for more than 2 hours.
Salt, Oxyd, hydroxyd of Mg, AI and Ca (covering the gastric-intestinal mucosa) reduces the absorption of the digestive tract of iron salts. Use these drugs apart over 2 hours.
Storage
Store at temperatures below 30 ° C, avoiding light.
