Uses
indications
The drug is indicated for adults and children over 12 years of treatment of bronchial diseases that are accompanied by dry cough.
Pharmacology
Pharmacological group: Cough reduction drug.
Code ATC: R05DB27.
Mechanism of action
levodropizin has the effect of reducing cough due to inhibition of impact on fibers c.
Levodropizin is a peripheral cough reduction drug on bronchial gases, accompanied by anti -allergy and anti -bronchial effects.
Pharmaceutical effect
In vitro, the drug has been shown to inhibit the release of levodropropizin on the bronchi system by inhibiting bronchospasm caused by histamine, serotonin or bradykinin.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
on humans, levodropropizin is absorbed and distributed quickly after drinking.
Selling time is from 1-2 hours. Levodropropizin is excreted mainly in urine. The drug is eliminated in a constant form and in the form of metabolites such as sued levodropizin and p-hydroxylevodropizin free or combined form. Levodropropizin and its metabolites are eliminated in urine about 35% of the dose within 48 hours.
Dynamic studies have been conducted on rats, dogs and humans. The absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination in all three species are the same with oral bioavailability of over 75%.
The ratio of cohesion with plasma proteins in humans is negligible (11-14%) and can be compared to the visual values on dogs and mice.
The tests in which the drug is continuously used showing that the treatment for 8 days (3 times/day) does not affect the absorption and elimination properties of the drug. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate the accumulation and self -metabolism of the drug.
Radioactive recovery rate after drinking is 93%.
There is no significant change in the pharmacokinetic properties of drugs in children, elderly patients with moderate or severe renal failure.

impaired mucus system function and feather activity (Kartagier syndrome, switching disorders).
Severe liver function impairment.
Pregnant and lactating women (see the use of drugs for pregnant and lactating women).
Be cautious when using
There is no significant change in the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug in children.
There is no significant change in the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug on the elderly, so it is not necessary to change the dose or the distance to use the drug on this patient.
However, due to the sensitivity to different drugs is different in the elderly, levodropropizin needs to be used carefully in these patients.
Be careful when taking the drug for the following objects:
Because there is no data on the effects of food on the absorption of the drug, the drug should be used away from the meal (when hungry).

Use drugs for women during pregnancy and lactation
Pregnant women, fertility
Studies on the risk of teratogenicity, fertility and reproductive process as well as studies during the birth and postpartum period do not show any toxicity of the drug.
However, due to animal toxic studies at a dose of 24 mg/kg, there is a slow weight gain and growth, and levodropropizin can pass the fetal fence in mice, so do not use medication for pregnant women or pregnant women.
