Tyrosur gel is indicated in the following cases:

Treatment and prevention of infections for small wounds on the surface of the skin is or at risk of bacterial superinfection sensitive to tyrothricin . Some specific types of wounds are:

  • Small cutting, small skin tears.
  • Burns . Learning

tyrothricin is a compound of different ring and straight polypeptides that have an effective antibacterial effect, formed by the endotoxicity of anaerobic cells of Bacillus Brevis bacteria. This compound contains up to 70 - 80% tyrocidins (basic ring decapeptides) and 20 - 30% gramicidin (central pentadecapeptide). The spectrum acts mainly on gram (+) bacteria, in addition to the effects on some gram (-) and fungi bacteria, including the Candida albicans.

tyrothricin has a bactericidal or antibacterial activity dependent on the following microorganisms:

Dosage has an inhibitory effect (µg/ml):

    Staph. Aureus Mssa 4

    Staph. Aureus MrSa 4

    Staph. Haemolyticus 4

    strep. Pyogenes 0.5

    strep. Viridans 1 - 5

    Enterococcus Faecalis 2

    diplococcus pneumonia 1

    corynebact spp. 2

    Clostridia 0.1 - 10

    candida albicans 16

    Candida Parapsilosis 32

Dosage ≥ 50 micrograms/ml has the effect of inhibiting Neisseria meningitides, some species of neisseria gonorrhoeae, some mushrooms, trichomonas.

tyrocidin works by solving nitrogen and phosphate containing substances from bacterial cells. Similar to cation detergent, tyrocidin destroys the osmotic walls of bacterial cell membranes. This is the direct attack on the bacterial cell wall, which does not work on the growth or self -division of bacteria.

On the other hand, gramicidin forms a cation channel into the bacterial cell membrane, leading to a loss of potassium to create a change in intracellular cation concentration and eventually lead to cell cancellation. Gramicidin part also creates a phosphorylation of respiratory chain.

Because of the special mechanism of tyrothricin, this mechanism is not found in other antibiotics, so the cross -resistance has not been seen.

In the treatment of wounds, Tyrosur Gel's effects are not only because of the outstanding microbiological activity but also by other characteristics that promote the treatment process. Clinical studies have shown that Tyrosur Gel promotes wound healing by cleaning the wound surface and stimulating the seed and epithelial coverage.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

The tyrothricin process is absorbed into the body. High concentration is found in the horny layer (after absorbing through the skin healing) or directly at the wound.
