Uses
indications
U-stone drugs are indicated in the following cases: Treatment and prevention of kidney stones: calcium stones, uric stones and combined stones.
Pharmacological
Potassium citrate oral increases alkalinity and increases urine pH. The drug also increases urine citrate, not only because of increased filtration with citrate but also because of the impact of the kidney's citrate ability. Citrate slowed the crystal of calcium salt to form stones through the following two mechanisms:
Creates a complex with calcium and reduces the concentration of calcium ion concentration, thus reducing the saturation of urine with oxalate, this is the motivation to produce stones.
Citrate directly inhibits oxalate crystals, Potassium citrate does not affect the saturation of Calcium Phosphate salt, because the formation of Calcium Citrate complex will be lost due to a pH increase, increasing phosphate separation. Calcium phosphate stones are more stable in the average test environment.
citrate has been shown to inhibit the random precipitation of calcium oxalate and it delays the adhesion to form calcium oxalate crystals.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
under normal conditions, most of the oral Potassium citrate is completely absorbed. Most of the amount of citrate oral oxidized under normal conditions, while the remaining free radicals of Potasium, thus increasing the alkalinity.
This alkalinity increases pH and citrate in urine. This is a certificate of a small amount of Citrate absorbed from oxidized and present in the urine. About 75% Citrate filtered through the kidneys were reabsorbed, the remaining amount (25%) was eliminated in the urine.
In the case of decreasing blood potassium, Potassium ions will increase the secretion of citrate through the urine as a effort to regulate intracellular acid.
Before taking U-STONE CASASCO drinking powder for treatment and prevention of kidney stones (60 packs)
How to use
Take oral use.
Dosage
Adults:
The purpose of treatment is to restore normal citrate levels in urine, and increase urine to 6.0 - 7.0.
If the urinary citrate is reduced (citrate of urine under 150mg/day) The dose of 2 packs daily: divided into 4 times, each time 1/2 pack, drink while eating or after eating 30 minutes.
If a mild citrate reduction (citrate urine is over 150mg/day): 1 pack/day is divided into 3 times when taking the patient medication should be recommended to drink plenty of water during the day: at least 2 liters a day. Limit the use of salt and salty foods high in salt.
Do not use more than 3 packs/day.
Old people: The dose of adults.
Children: The safety and effectiveness of the drug in children has not been proven so it should not be used for children.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.
What to do when overdose?
Symptoms:
Long -term use in patients with Potassium secretion disorders can cause muscle paralysis and heart failure. Be cautious because Potassium overdose is usually asymptomatic and can only manifest as an electrocardiogram change. The late manifestation is muscle vibration or cardiovascular.
Management:
Eliminate potassium -rich foods and potassium diuretics;
intravenous injection 300-500ml/hour Dextrose 10% solution contains 10-20 insulin/1000ml units;
Adjustment of acidosis by sodium bicarbonate intravenously;
peritoneal or dialysis.
What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.
Side Effects
When using U-Stone, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).
Common, ADR> 1/100
No report.
Uncommon, 1/1000 No report. Not determined frequency Digestive: Gastric disorders: discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. This effect is reduced when used with food. Instructions on how to handle ADR When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.
Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
contraindicated
U-stone drugs contraindicated in the following cases:
Hemolytic hyperkalemia. Heart disease can be severely caused by potassium.
Metabolic acidosis. Acute stomach ulcer. Intestinal obstruction.
kidney failure. Urinary tract infection. Volume of urinary tract. Hydropic sodium increased. Adrenal failure.
Not for children.
Precautions when used
Patients with renal impairment, the risk of acute sodium hypercasses.
Should determine the electrolyte (Sodium, Potassium and Chloride), Creatine every 4 months. Closely monitoring (must be maintained between 6.0 and 7.0) and blood ions.
Periodically check urine to cells and bacteria. Patients with U-Stone recommend that the diet should be continued without salt and drink plenty of water. It is possible to record an increased urine pH in a low -protein diet and lots of fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
There has been no report on the impact of the drug on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
pregnancy
studies on animal reproductive systems have not been conducted. It is unclear whether Potassium Citrate is harmful to the fetus when used on the mother or affects the fertility in women. U-stone is only used for pregnant women when really necessary.
The period of breastfeeding
K+ ion concentration in human milk is about 13MEQ/l. It is still unclear whether the drug will affect this concentration. Should only take medicine for women who are breastfeeding if really necessary.
Drug interactions
alkaline urine, through ionic catching mechanism, which can increase weak acid excretion such as salicylates and phenobarbital. In contrast, it reduces the effectiveness of nerve and sympathetic stimulants (such as amphetamins).
Caution should be used with patients who are taking drugs that increase blood sodium, such as potassium diuretics, enzyme inhibitors, cyclosporine, potassium penicillin.
Storage
Storage below 30 ° C. Avoid light and moisture.
Stay out of reach of children.
