The effect of valproat on other drugs:

- Phenobarbital: Valproat increases phenobarbital levels. Clinical monitoring should be monitored in the first 15 days of drug coordination and phenobarbital dose reduction when sedative symptoms.
- Primidon: Valproat increases the concentration of primidon and increases its unwanted effects. Clinical monitoring and dose adjustment when needed.
- Phenytoin: Valproat increases the total level of phenytoin in plasma and free phenytoin.
- Lamotrigin: Valproat reduces Lamotrigin metabolism, so the dose is needed.
Effect of other drugs on Valproat:
- Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Carbamazepine reduces the concentration of Valproat, therefore, the dose must be reduced according to plasma concentrations when combined treatment.
- Mefloquin increases Valproat metabolism and has epilepsy.
- When used in combination with Valproat with strong protein-connected substances such as aspirin, it will increase the concentration of free valproot.
