Uses

Indications

Ventolin medicine are indicated in the following cases:

  • Salbutamol is a selective co -substance on Adrenergic Beta 2 receptor, designated for treatment or prevention of bronchial spasms. The drug has a short bronchodilator effect (4 hours) in the obstruction of the airway with a recovery due to asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema . For patients with asthma, Salbutamol can reduce symptoms when asthma attacks and prevention before known situations will start asthma attacks. For persistent asthma patients who do not respond to ventolin, the inhaled corticosteroid treatment is needed to achieve and maintain control. Not responding to the dose of Ventolin treatment may be a sign that patients need to be evaluated with medical or emergency treatment. Short bronchodilator (4 to 6 hours) together with a quick starting start (within 5 minutes) in case of obstruction of the airway recovery.

    pharmacokinetic

    absorption

After using the inhalation line, about 10 to 20% of the dose reaches the lower respiratory tract. The rest is kept in aerosol equipment or deposited in the mouth of the pharynx, where the drug is swallowed. The deposits on the gas path are absorbed into the lung tissue and circulation but not metabolized in the lungs.

    Distribution

Salbutamol is connected to plasma proteins about 10%.

    Metabolism

Within the whole body, Salbutamol is metabolized in the liver and is excreted mainly through the urine in a constant form and in the form of phenolic sulphate.

Most of the pills swallow after spray is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and significantly converted into phenolic sulphate. The whole drug is not changed and the link is excreted mainly in the urine.

    Elimination

Salbutamol static injection has a semi-canceled time from 4 to 6 hours and is partially cleared through the kidney and partially transformed into an inactive substance 4'-o-Sulphate (phenolic sulphate) is also excreted mainly through urine. A small part of the drug is excreted in stool. After taking a dose of intravenously, oral or inhaled Salbutamol, most salbutamol amounts are excreted within 72 hours.

Do not put metal drugs in water.

    Dosage

ventolin has a time of action from 4 to 6 hours in most patients.

Using more and more beta2 homogeneous substances, which can be a sign of increasing asthma. In these cases, it may be necessary to re -evaluate the patient's treatment plan and should consider the treatment in combination with Glucocorticosteroid.

When using too high dose can cause unwanted effects, so it should only increase the dose or increase the number of drug use when prescribed by a doctor.

ventolin is only sprayed with oral.

Patients who find it difficult to inhale from the pressure spray bottle can use a buffer chamber with Ventolin Inhaler. In children and children using Ventolin Inhaler may be more beneficial when using children's buffer chamber with mask (eg Babyhaler).

    Reducing bronchospasm

    Adults: 100mcg or 200mcg.

Children: 100mcg, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 200mcg.

Prevention of bronchospasm caused by allergens or exertion

Adults: 200mcg before exertion or exposure to allergens.

Children: 100mcg before exertion or exposure to allergens, if necessary, can increase the dose to 200mcg.

    Treatment of chronic diseases

Adults: up to 200mcg 4 times daily.

Children: Up to 200mcg 4 times a day.

Ventolin is used when needed but not used exceeding 4 times a day. The dependence on the use of supplements or sudden increase in dosage shows that asthma is progressing (see the warning and caution).

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

What to do when overdose? A reduced hypotension may appear after ventoline overdose. Should check serum potassium concentration.

There has been a report on lactic acid infections related to high doses as well as overdose of beta -shaped copper, so in cases of overdose may need to monitor serum lactic hyperplasia and consequences of metabolic acidosis (especially if there is rapid breathing or worse even though there are no signs of other bronchospasms such as wheezing).

What to do when forgetting 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

Instructions on how to handle ADR

When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

Ventolin medicine contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Salbutamol is contraindicated for patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any ingredients in the drug.
  • Ventolin's non -intravenous dosage forms are not used to prevent uncomplicated or miscarriage.
  • Precautions when using

The management of asthma often should be carried out according to the approach of the ladder, and the patient's response should be clinically monitored and by lung function tests.

Increasing the use of short -acting bronchodilators, especially beta2 homogeneous substances, to reduce symptoms that shows deterioration of asthma. At that time, it is necessary to re -evaluate the patient's treatment plan.

Sudden and increasing control of asthma is the ability to threaten patients' life and should consider starting treatment or increasing the dose of treatment with corticosteroids. In patients who are considered to be at risk, can monitor the daily flow.

Should be especially cautious when using ventolin in patients with hyperthyroidism.

The risk of severe hypokalemia may be the result of the beta2 bronze treatment mainly with injection and aerosol.

It is necessary to be careful, especially for acute severe asthma because this side effect may be onset when treated simultaneously with Xanthin group derivatives, steroids, diuretics and tissue oxygen deficiency. For these cases, serum potassium levels should be monitored.

As well as other inhaled treatments, paradoxical bronchospasm can appear, immediately increase the symptoms of wheezing after taking the drug. Should be treated immediately by other form of preparation or by a quick -inhaled bronchodilator if available. Ventolin inhaler should be stopped immediately and replaced with another fast bronchodilator to use if needed.

In case of previous effective dose of inhaled ventolin, this inhalation cannot reduce asthma symptoms for at least 3 hours, patients should go to the doctor for examination to get the necessary treatment steps.

Should check the patient's inhalation technique to make sure that spraying in time for the patient to inhale so that it is optimal to bring the drug to the two lungs.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

    No report.

    Pregnancy

    Reproduction

There is no information on the influence of salbutamol on human fertility. There is no adverse effect on animal fertility.

During the world -world circulation, rarely reports on various congenital abnormalities, including spears and spas in the children of patients treated with salbutamol. Some of these mothers have used many different drugs during pregnancy. Due to the inconsistent form of defects, and the common rate of congenital abnormalities is 2 to 3%, so the relationship between salbutamol and deformities has not been determined.

    Breastfeeding period

Salbutamol can be excreted in breast milk, the use of drugs in nursing mothers is not recommended unless the expected treatment benefits for mothers surpasses any potential risk. It is not known whether salbutamol in breast milk will cause harmful effects on babies.

    Drug interaction

often should not prescribe ventolin for patients to use simultaneously with unsatisfactory beta blockers, like propranolol.

Non -contraindicated use of ventolin for patients being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Maois).
