Indications

Vitamin ad is indicated in the following cases:

  • Supplements for people with liver disease: Especially hepatitis biliary obstruction due to reduced absorption and storage of vitamin A. dry eye dryness, night blindness; Puree of bone and osteoporosis, corticosteroid osteoporosis; Bone dysplasia or secondary blood calcium loss due to chronic kidney disease; Integrity of parathyroidism and fake anti -armor. Prevent the risk of falling and fractures in the elderly. Primary cirrhosis due to chronic bile or cholestatic liver.

In the form of operation (1.25 - dihydroxycoleciferol), vitamin D3 (or colecalciferol) along with parathyroid hormones and calcitonin regulating calcium concentration in serum. The main biological function of vitamin D is to maintain normal calcium and phosphorus concentration in plasma by increasing the effectiveness of the absorption of minerals from diets, small intestine and increasing calcium and phosphorus mobilization from bone into blood. The activity types of vitamin D3 may have a negative response effect on the formation of the thyroid hormone (PTH).

    pharmacokinetic

vitamin A (retinyl palmitat) is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract in the form of retinol (after being hydrolyzed by pancreatic enzymes). Fat absorption, lack of protein, liver dysfunction or pancreatic function reduces the absorption of vitamin A. Some retinols are stored in the liver and from here are released into the blood in the form of a specific globulin. The body's vitamin A reserves often meet the body's needs for several months. The free retinol part is glucuronic and oxidized to retinal and retinoic acid and then excreted in urine and stools along with other metabolites.

Vitamin D3 is well absorbed from the small intestine. About 80% of vitamin D3 used by oral is concentrated in microorganisms and is absorbed in the lymphatic system. Vitamin D3 and its metabolites rotate in the blood associated with specific alpha globulin. Half -life in the plasma of Vitamin D3 is 19-25 hours, but the drug is stored for a long time in fat tissue.

Vitamin D3 and its metabolites are excluded mainly through bile and feces, only a small amount appears in the urine. Vitamin D3 can be secreted into milk.

When taking high doses of vitamin A.

Characteristic symptoms: fatigue, irritability, anorexia, weight loss, vomiting, digestive disorders, fever, liver - enlarged spleen, changing skin, hair loss, crispy dry hair, chapped lips and bleeding, anemia, headache, high blood calcium, edema under the skin, pain in bones and joints. In children, the symptoms of chronic poisoning also include increased intracranial pressure (stretching), eyelid edema, tinnitus, visual disorders, painful swelling along the long bones (when stopping vitamin A, the symptoms also gradually lost but the bone may stop growing due to long bones that have been too early).

    Acute poisoning

When taking vitamin A is very high.

Characteristic signs: drowsiness, dizziness dizziness, nausea, vomiting, prone to irritation, headache, delusion and convulsions, diarrhea .... symptoms appear after drinking from 6 to 24 hours.

    Handling

Stop taking the drug. Symptomatic treatment and supportive treatment.

    Overdose of vitamin D

Signs and initial symptoms of Vitamin D poisoning are signs and symptoms of hypercalcemia such as weakness, fatigue, sleeping, headache; Anorexia, dry mouth, metal flavor, nausea, vomiting, cramps in the abdomen, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness; Tinnitus, loss of air conditioning, foreign rash, reduced muscle tone, muscle pain, bone pain, and easily stimulated.

    Handling

Stop drugs, stop calcium supplements, maintain a diet with low calcium, drink plenty of water or infusion. If necessary, corticosteroids can be used or other drugs, especially diuretics increase calcium (such as Furosemid and ethacrynic acid) to reduce calcium levels in serum. Artificial kidney dialysis can be used or abdominal separation to release free calcium from the body. If vitamin D poisoning is acute, just taken, it can be prevented to continue absorbing vitamin D by causing vomiting or gastric lavage. If the drug has passed the stomach, treatment with mineral oil can promote vitamin D elimination through feces.

What to do when forgetting a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Do not drink twice as prescribed.

    Side Effects

When using vitamin ad , you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

Side effects and harmful effects due to vitamin A and D poisoning will appear when using high doses of high doses (such as vitamin D ≥ 50,000 IU/day in people with normal and normal adjacent functions and normal sensitivity to vitamin D) or when taking a very high dose of vitamin AD, or in the increase in the normal dose of vitamin D (leading to calcium metabolic disorders).

Instructions on how to handle ADR

Must stop taking drugs, symptomatic treatment and supportive treatment.

Notify the doctor the unwanted effects when used.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

  • Pregnant and lactating women (because the dosage of vitamin A exceeds the daily needs for pregnant and lactating women).

Patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the drug (excipients: soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, nipasol m).

    Medicinal interaction

The following drugs should not be used simultaneously with vitamin AD:

  • Neomycin, liquid paraffin, cholestyramin, colestipol hydrochloride, mineral oil (when used in excess): Reducing the absorption of vitamins A, D in the intestine.
  • contraceptives: Increases vitamin A concentration in plasma and has an unfavorable effect on conception in time immediately after stopping birth control pills.
  • isotretinoin: can lead to a condition like using vitamin A overdose.
  • phenobarbital, phenytoin: Causes liver enzyme induction, increases vitamin D conversion into non -active substances. corticosteroid, rifampicin or isoniazid: reduce the effect of vitamin D. thiazid diuretics, cardiac glycosides: can lead to hypercalcemia, leading to arrhythmia. Orlistat: may reduce the absorption of vitamin A, which can cause low plasma vitamin A levels in some people.

  • warfarin: high doses of vitamin A can increase the effect of reducing the blood prothrombin of warfarin.
  • Storage

In a cool dry place, temperatures below 300C, closed button, avoid light and air, not to freeze.
