Vitamin B1 250 mg is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of vitamin B, heavy, metabolic disorders due to genetic enzyme deficiency responding to thiamin.
Pharmacology
Thiamin (vitamin B1) is a water -soluble vitamin, belonging to group B. Thiamin combined with adenosin triphosphate in the liver, kidneys and leukocytes forming thiamin diphosphate (thiamin pyrophosphate) with physiological activity. Thiamin diphosphate is a carbohydrate metabolic coenzym, which is responsible for reducing carboxyl of alpha-cystoacids such as pyruvat and alpha-cetoglutarat, and in the use of pentose in the Hexose Monophosphate cycle.
The amount of vitamin B1, daily, requires 0.9 - 1.5mg for men and 0.8 - 1.1mg for healthy women. The need for vitamin B1, directly related to the amount of carbohydrate and metabolic speed. When vitamin B deficiency, the oxidation of alpha-cetoacids is affected, causing pyruvate concentration in the blood to increase and continue to transform into lactic acid, helping to diagnose thiamin deficiency.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
The absorption of vitamin B1 in daily eating through the gastrointestinal tract is due to positive transportation independent of Na+.
In adults, about 1 mg of vitamin B1 is completely metabolized every day in tissues, and this is the minimum amount of daily need. When absorbed at this low level, there are very little or no vitamin B1 excreted in the urine.
When absorbing exceeds the minimum demand, after saturation in the tissue, the excess vitamin B1 will be eliminated through the urine in the form of intact vitamin B1 molecules. When absorbing vitamin B1 increases further, excretion in the form of unproven vitamin B1 will increase.
