Vertical posture hypotension , also known as posture hypotension occurs when switching from a posture to a vertical position. Normally standing posture increases diastolic blood pressure and mitigating systolic blood pressure compared to the lying position. The posture hypotension is defined that when systolic blood pressure decreases above 20mmHg and diastolic blood pressure decreases above 10mmHg when changing from lying to standing within 3 minutes.
