Xiidra is packaged in 60 single-use containers. It is supplied in a carton that contains 12 foil pouches containing 5 low-density polyethylene 0.2 mL single-use containers per pouch. When you fill your prescription, you will get the entire box of 60 containers, which should last one month.

Xiidra (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution) is a prescription eye drop used to treat the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease. Xiidra works by targeting the inflammation (swelling) that worsens dry eye disease. Xiidra contains lifitegrast, a prescription medication that is classified as a lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) antagonist.

Xiidra is manufactured by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

How do I use Xiidra?

  • Instill 1 drop of Xiidra two times each day, about 12 hours apart, into each eye using the single-use container. Throw away the single-use container immediately after using in each eye.
  • If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Xiidra and wait for at least 15 minutes before placing them back in your eyes.
  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions.
  • The most common side effects of Xiidra include eye irritation, discomfort or blurred vision when the drops are instilled in the eyes. Dysgeusia, an unusual taste sensation, may also occur. These side effects occurred in 5% to 25% of patients in studies.
