Vyepti intravenous (IV) infusions take about 30 minutes and are given 4 times per year (every 3 months). You will receive the infusion at your doctor’s office or at a special infusion center, and the total time spent there may be longer than 30 minutes.

Your healthcare provider will watch you closely for any side effects, like an allergic reaction, during your infusion. Once your infusion is done, you can usually leave the infusion center and continue your daily activities.

In Vyepti (eptinezumab) studies, the most common side effects that occurred in at least 2 out of every 100 patients (2%) were common cold symptoms like stuffy nose and scratchy throat and allergic reactions.

Vyepti is a prescription medicine used to help prevent migraine headaches in adults.

How do I prepare for my Vyepti infusion?

To prepare for your infusion:

  • Drink plenty of water before your appointment to keep hydrated
  • Wear comfortable clothes with sleeves that can be rolled up over your elbow. The infusion center might be chilly, so bring an extra layer.
  • Be sure you know how to get to the infusion center, as it may not be where your doctor is located. Bring all your paperwork and a list of all the medicines you take, including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins and dietary supplements or herbs.
  • Ask your doctor, nurse or other healthcare provider any questions you may have.
  • Remember to schedule your next infusion appointment before you leave. You’ll need to return in 3 months.

    • Inform your health care provider right away if you have any side effects, such as:

  • chest tightness
  • a cough
  • rash or itching
  • redness or flushing of the face
  • trouble breathing or swallowing
  • the development of large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  • unusual tiredness or weakness while you are receiving this medicine.

    • These may be signs of symptoms of a serious allergic reaction. Let them know if you have any other side effects that won’t go away or are bothersome.
