FDA Recalls Chocolate Candies Over Milk Allergy Risk
By I. Edwards HealthDay Reporter

MONDAY, June 23, 2025 — Chocolate candy sold across the U.S. is being recalled because it may contain milk that isn’t listed on the label, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.
The agency announced the recall of multiple batches of semi-sweet chocolate nonpareils made by Weaver Nut Company Inc., CBS News reported.
The candy includes small sprinkles and was sold in two varieties: one with white nonpareils and one with red, green and white "Christmas seeds."
It was sold at grocery and retail stores nationwide.
The recall affects six lots of the Christmas seeds variety and 15 lots of the white seed variety. A full list of the affected lot numbers is below.
The FDA said the issue was discovered after a wholesale customer filed a complaint. A lab test later confirmed that the candy contained milk, which was not listed on the ingredient label, CBS News explained in a report.
People who are allergic to milk could have serious or life-threatening reactions if they eat the recalled chocolate, health officials warned.
No illnesses have been reported so far, but the company has issued a voluntary recall out of caution.
"Weaver Nut Company is working with the FDA and is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of its products," company spokesperson Angela Nolt said.
