Honey Almond Cream Cheese, Sold at Einstein Bros. Bagels, Recalled Due To Undeclared Nuts
via HealthDayWEDNESDAY, April 1, 2026 — A popular cream cheese spread sold at Einstein Bros. Bagels locations is being recalled due to a labeling mix-up that could put people with nut allergies at risk.
Schreiber Foods is recalling 144 cases of Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread after noticing that some containers may contain almonds that are not clearly listed on the packaging, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.
The issue involves packaging with a Honey Almond lid but a cup labeled "Plain," which indicates that it does not contain nuts.
People with an almond allergy or sensitivity could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the product.
It comes in a 6-ounce plastic cup labeled "Einstein Bros. Bagels." It was distributed to stores in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming, the FDA said.
The company says the issue was limited and has since been fixed, according to the FDA.
The cream cheese has a "Best If Used By" date of July 21, 2026 (Lot Code: Jul 21, 2026 LO).
No illnesses have been reported.
Anyone who bought the cream cheese with the mismatched label should not eat it if they have an almond allergy. Instead, return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Anyone with questions can contact the company through the Einstein Bros. website: www.einsteinbros.com/contact/.
